CWP was funded through the Chesapeake Bay Trust to developing a monitoring project for biochar in bioretentions. Two cells were built, one with biochar amended soils, and one with only bioretention media. Inflow and outflow water quality was assessed.
While an underdrain was required for the project, the existing soils still provided some infiltration. Due to this, and the efficiencies of the unamended bioretention, there were very little outflow in both systems, making it difficult to analyze the data.
