Arlington County is partnering with the Center for Watershed Protection on a biochar soil amendment pilot project. Arlington County is implementing Green Street Project goals to capture, filter and absorb runoff and reduce excess sediment and nutrients from entering the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay through construction of bioretention and rain gardens. This project is currently under interdepartmental review. Planning for Summer/Fall 2024 for pre-construction meetings on site.
